True Image 9 Services

Thread needs solution

I have read several threads and articles here that referenced my question but did not answer it. My question is in regards to the four system services that run TI9. Ideally I would like for the services to not run at all. Yes I know Acronis says that they do not suck up system resources but myself like some other posters here like to run a slimed down smooth machine. Heck with Acronis and Zoneal Alarm that is 8 out of 28 process showing in my task manager. That is nearly 25% of my process that are dedicated to two pieces of software. Yes I know that does not mean 25% of system resources but still, the way I look at things that is way too much. I have a hard enough time keeping ZA with its 4 processes slowing me down!

I have read the following articles 2999, 3032 and 6121.

What I would like to know:

If I disable these services without removing TI9 what kind of adverse effects could it cause my system? Article 2999 applies to TI10 and all it says is “Disabling of these services with Acronis True Image 10.0 Home installed may cause some issues with the correct working of the program and of the system.” Kind of vague. Does this also apply to TI9? What kind of “issues” is it talking about?

If none what is the harm in having them disabled, then re-enabling them when I want to make another back up?

If I do have some kind of failure while these services are disabled will it prevent me from recovering from my back up created by TI9 that is on an external drive?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Jason,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

I don't think that the description provided in this post is vague. If you disable the services, you will be unable to perform the operations they are responsible for. The description is valid for Acronis True Image 9.0 Home also. Certainly, you can temporally disable the services and enable them prior using Acronis True Image.

If you think that these services influence the system performance greatly, you can perform the backup operations under the standalone version of the program. You can also use this CD for disaster recovery.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.
