True Image basics

Thread needs solution

I am not an acronis true image admin myself but for a risk assessment exercise I need to understand some basic settings.

For a specific server, I need to see what acronis true image is currently configured to backup (data, time, etc) on that server, where it’s saving the backup file to, and some sort of log of evidence to show the last 30 backups were successful (or not as the case may be)…

From a security angle I need to understand who could get to the backup file, and copy it away, restore it etc. Is there any easy way to see what security is setup, and whether there are any default vulnerabilities with acronis, such as default user accounts, with default passwords, missing patches, default permissions, access control lists for the backup files etc. A list of people who can access the backup server and with what permissions would be useful also.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your assistance.

True Image 2013 by Acronis doesn't back up servers. So you probably use some other product. In that case,

> what acronis true image is currently configured to backup
Go to backup plans and examine all them in the section 'what to backup' (or something like that) and schedule.

> to show the last 30 backups were successful
There is log (dashboard, alerts, whatever) but last 30 (total for all backup tasks? for each of them?) might be difficult to get if you don't know exact dates.

>who could get to the backup file
See permissions of folder where it's located, and permissions of backup file itself.
