true image boot disk problems. second hard drive missing on my computer after restore
hi guys hope you can help. here's the scenario. i have a toshiba laptop running windows vista home premium. this laptop has 2 hard drives i.e. C:\ and E:\. i did a full backup after a fresh install with administrator account active with the latest updates and various software i love using. the issue is, one day my computer crashed for some unknown reason. i used acronis to restore that image. everything restored perfectly but was amazed that my E:\ had disappeared. funny enough when i reinstalled using my vista recovery disk E:\ reappeared. The million dollar question is, am i backing up or restoring the wrong way. how can i backup and restore without losing my E:\ ? thanks in advance

hi and thank you for you response. i will answer your questions chronologically
1) i am using the 2009 boot disk it's the home edition
2) e:\ was gone from my computer and in the disk management window
3) e:\ is a second physical drive and i've always kept it empty
4) e:\ did not appear at all after the restore...if i can recollect, i think i selected all drives and partiations when i was doing a full computer image backup, and the same when restoring i.e. selecting all drives partitions etc available.
your assistance will be greatly appreciated

If you want to perform one restore and have both disks restored, then your backup must include both disk within the same backup.
Or, you can perform a backup of each disk separately and then restore each disk separately. Just be sure that your backup is where the entire disk is checked and not just drive C.
When restoring two disks in one pass, be sure that both disks are checked as being restored.
