True Image cannot see 1 disk others are fine.
True Image 2012 does not list one of my disks in the 'Source' list but it does appear in the 'destination' list.
I have two identical (make and model) disks installed as well as a single SSD.
I can backup the SSD without any issues and I can also backup the HDD that is on the same Intel controller. However, the 2nd HDD is on a separate (Marvell) controller and is not listed as available to backup (it's not in the Source list). This is my data drive and is more critical than the others (typical!!)
Windows and see the disk OK, and TI2012 lists it as an available destination disk.
In Windows Disk management both disk partitions are identical in setup (both Primary NTFS partitions). The only difference is that the problem disk has a volume name assigned and it's on a separate controller (which I guess is the issue)
Any guidance would be appreciated.
If you need any more info, please ask.
Regards,
Al.

eggy,
can you post a screenshot of your disk management console following these instructions:
- right click on the computer icon on your desktop,
- choose manage,
- choose storage, disk management
- in the menu, choose view, top, list disks
Then capture what you see and post the screen shot.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I'll post some screenshots this evening but basically to answer James F.
During a normal Windows session, booted from my SSD, if I go to setup a backup, in the Source devices list I can only see the two drives that are connected to the Intel controller (my SSD and a Samsung 1TB HDD), switching between disk/partition mode makes no difference. However, in the destination list, the problem HDD is listed. It is also available and fully functional in Windows, it's where "My Documents" is currently pointing.
Anyway, I'll post the details from the disk management console this evening as requested by Pat.
Thanks for the replies.

Hi again,
OK, I'm running True Image Home 2012, Update 2 (build 7119) Fully activated version.
Well I was about to take a screenshot of the disk management window and I noticed "Virtual CloneDrive" was running so I thought I would close it down to save any confusion on the screenshot. I took the screen shot and started True Image Home 2012 to then take a schot of the disk not being listed and guess what!... yes it's there!
I can only do a disk mode backup, not a partition backup but that's good enough for now.
So, thanks for your input and sorry to have wasted time. I'll do some testing with Virtual CLone drive and see if it really was the culprit but too much work at the moment to test thouroughly. I'll post any results here though.
Regards and thanks again.
Al.

I used to use Virtual Clone Drive, and it gave me problems as well. Daemon Tools Lite (free for personal use) is what I have switched to. I works well (even under Windows 8).

Also suggest you assign names to your drives C and G.
Right click on each drive letter and select properties and add the name.
I like to include the name plus the drive letter such as
Win7_C
Storage_G
