I have installed the lastest version on windows 7 and it will not allow me to run the program. Is there a patch?

Hello Ryan Britton,

Thank you very much for your post. I will certainly help you with this.

I am very sorry, but Acronis True Image Echo Workstation does not support Windows 7. If you need Windows 7 support I would recommend either Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Workstation Standalone or Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation.

If you have a valid support license, you can upgrade to Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 free of charge.

For your own convenience, here is a list of articles from our Knowledge Base that could be useful to you:

1. Microsoft Windows 7 32/64 Bit Support in Acronis Products

2. Operating Systems Acronis True Image Echo Products Support

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I am using True Image Echo Bootable CD to creating IMAGE backup of whole OS W7 and would it be work to restore? and what is the easiest way to get backup IMAGE of OS and restore it on other computer? TI 2010 Home or Snap Deploy3 or Backup and Recovery 2010? Our laptops are Dell Precision m4400 and hard disc is SSD with IRRT, changed it to AHCI in my prepared laptop, does it corrupt something else?

Hello Tulga M,

Thank you very much for your post. I will certainly answer all of your questions.

You can try using the Acronis True Image Echo bootable CD to restore a Windows 7 operating system, however, there is a possibility that after the restore your system will be unbootable and you will have to restore the Windows boot loader manually.

To backup an operating system and then restore it, please check pages 65 and 81 of our user guide, which is available here.

If you have multiple laptops then I would definitely recommend Acronis Snap Deploy 3. You can always download a trial version from here.

With Snap Deploy 3 you can create a master image and deploy it to one/many machines. You can read this article for additional information.

Acronis True Image 2010 Home and Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 can be used to create a backup and then restore it to another machine.

The only issue with AHCI that we have, is for Dell OptiPlex 755 models running Windows XP, but the fix is available in this Knowledge Base article.

I would also suggest to check the article that explains trial versions limitations of our products.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks Anton,

One stupid question again?! sorry, i am using Acronis Backup and restore 2010 bootable cd for getting IMAGE and restore it, it is working perfect on WIN7 but one question?! When i used True image echo i do check in SID option to change SN of OS for restore it other machine, on Backup and Restore 2010 i hadn't seen that option when i restored? Can you tell where it is?
