'True Image has stopped working' on 32 bit Vista
Just upgraded to True Image 2010 from 2009. Installation says it was successful. When trying to run TruImage, repeatedly get error message that TrueImage has stopped working. Uninstall and reinstall True Image 2009. Back to working fine. Yet when reinstall 2010, get the same error scenario. Any ideas?

Which service pack do you have on Vista?

After you uninstalled TI 2009 did you go into Users > Username > Appdata> Roaming and look for file named Acronis then delete if the file is there? If not do this then install TI 2010 and try again. Also make sure you disable DLT in services.
To be honest I've tried TI 2010 on my test PC using the trial version and although it worked OK unless you have a special reason for wanting the 2010 version then I'm with DwnNDirty, version 2009 is very stable both on Vista and W7 and that's the one I'm sticking with.

Hello all,
Mharg, I may recommend you to make a clean install of Acronis True Image 2010 Home.
- Uninstall Acronis True Image 2009 Home by the means of Acronis CleanUp Utility available at this link;
- Download the latest build of Acronis True Image 2010 Home from your account;
- Install it and check if the issue still persists.
If the software still crashes, please gather Dr.Watson crash dumps as described at this KB article and AcronisInfo and attach that information to your reply.
I'm looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

I was about to buy Acronis TI 2010 on Amazon, but reading the many negative comments there, I decided to try the trial first -- after installation, all it does is lock up my Vista Premium PC, or cause BSOD when I try to run it -- three times, and I'm giving up -- particularly with all the problems I see here. Couldn't even open a support file, because Acronis claims I haven't registered the trial -- but they sent me an email thanking me for trying the trial! It's a catch 22!
People at Acronis better get on top of this real quickly, provide support to resolve these problems, or you aren't going to be selling a lot more of this software!!

Patrick,
What is the BSOD code that you get? That is the first two hex digits and the first part after the opening brackets.
Are you using as brand name machine with manufacturer utilties running in the background.
Did the PC reboot OK after the installation or is it at boot time you get an error?
Do you have bitlocker or someother conpression/file security software running?
