True Image Home 10 resue boots, see .tib, runs but nothing changes

Thread needs solution

Most of us are in full panic by the time we get to this stage and I am.
Windows 7, 64 bit. Installed True Image Home 10,
made several back up files, some with mbr and system recovery, some only C

Ran into a jam last week, used the software to restore my image, successfully.
A few days later I had a total crash. I had to reload my system with windows successfully.

Therefore I could not replace it.
I tried choosing any or all of the previously backed up .tibs with mbr etc and Acronis does not see my C drive.

THEN, not sure exactly when this happened because it was 3 AM.
--I could eventually see the C drive, somehow, and chose the external drive .tib file,
Acronis went through the motions and then restarted, saw a flash of Acronis on restart and then it boots right back to windows in the same state.

NO CHANGES, NO ERRORS. huh!

QUESTIONS please
1. Do I need acronis true image on my computer installed to use the rescue media disk and have it work?
2.How do I get Acronis to see the C drive to replace it?
3. Most importantly how do I get it to recover and really recover. There are no errors or explanations. It all sets up fine, restart and nothing.

BTW I have nor had any partitions besides the 2 tiny ones provided by Sony and C

THANK YOU!
