True Image Home 2011
Hi all, I like many of you am a long time true image user. I have bought and registered several versions
Today I noticed that the 2011 version has been released so I downloaded the trial version.
I installed it over the 2010 and it installed fine.
I like the new user interface however I am really wondering if a lot of "whatsnew" is a new user interface on top of the same old train wreck.
After installing it I tried to start a Drive C restore from an image file made with 2010. It failed after about 5 seconds, never even got to the must reboot dialog.
So I made an image file with 2011 and then tried to restore that. It worked the first time. So I tried it again. This time the restore failed quickly after starting it. Never even got to the must reboot dialog.
Like 2010, 2011 still has the problem of failing to do the proper reboot to restore the boot drive, restore the drive and then reboot into windows like its supposed to do.
I sure did like this feature that was bulletproof for me up until the relase of TI2010
I will say that the emergency CD WAS able to restore both the 2010 and the 2011 image files, but from inside windows it often fails.
Whats the point of installing the program if it doesn't work reliably. Might as well just use the
Emergency Recovery Disk.
Looks to me like we may have yet another silk purse on top of a sow's ear. :(
So many times have I seen a software company with problems decide to spend most of the money on making a poor product "Prettier" rather than concentrating on the products reliablity. :(
