True Image Home 2011 is not compatible with Windows 7

Thread needs solution

I've been trying the entire evening to install this "solution" without any success. First I had to fight with Acronis True Image Home Build 5041 as I made the mistake to buy the product in a shop! Then after the update to 6696 I had no more success with a soft refusing to make any backup

This soft is a time devourer and no on line support or real help

As I anticipate my message will never be displayed on this forum and I wont receive any answer/help, I will make a print screen of this message and post it on several forums to explain the "quality" and "utility" of Acronis True Image Home 2011 with Windows 7

I would love to be wrong and discover that I have not invested soft cost + 4 hours for nothing...

Jevou,

What is the issue you encounter? What happens when you make which kind of backup?

Well your post is here and we are asking questions. You will have to describe the problem in detail if you want help.

Very simple, I click on the soft icon, the program starts, its window opens and if I try any of the functionalities = soft is frozen, no more reaction

I installed it and removed it 5 times with always the same result

I looked for a solution on the net with a LOT of problems described but no solution

That's why, I really think there is a basic compatibility issue with Windows 7

Try to uninstall it, then use the Acronis CleanUp Utility, clear the Temp folder, reboot,

Make sure the following services are started: Volume Shadow Copy, COM+ System Application, Distributed Transaction Coordinator

Disable anti-virus and other security software

Reinstall.

I run Win7 and ATI without a hitch.

Thanks very much for your answer but why should I loose all this time with a soft which has clearly a BIG problem with Win7? Your answer is adapted for a semi-pro and I'm not. I have followed what was written in this instructions, then discover this official problem with 5041 version and spent several hours for nothing!

Now, I should restart all the process from scratch?

I can't think none could call this "soft" a solution...

Jevou,

It is hard for us Users to evaluate how expert another user is. I understand you find the instructions too complex. Is this correct?

I am happy to walk you through them if you want to.

Another option for you is Acronis Customer Support. They have chat capability.

While Acronis tech support via chat has helped me, I completely! agree with the OP. Installing/using software should not be an engineering exercise.
I've used ATI off and on for ~ 10 years [along with Retrospect]. Hands down, using ATI is always an 'experiment'. For a while several years ago using ATI was straightforward. But, since then each time I've tried it there's always some issue.

With my recent experience where it broke Win 7 Backup and Restore after uninstalling ATI, it'll be awhile before I try again.
