True Image Home 2014 not responding

Thread needs solution

In the last week I get a lot of random "is not responding" messages - usually when I try and open it to look at the schedule.  This is a new problem possibly connected to the last Microsoft Tuesday updates.

The last one failed while a backup was running and that backup is still running ok.

Backups are generally working - a couple of crashes did happen.

I have done a reinstlla/repair

Bob, 'not responding' messages when trying to open any application would normally indicate that the system where the application is being launched is very busy.

Your comment about this being possibly connected to the last Microsoft Tuesday is interesting, as Microsoft are now getting a whole lot more aggressive at pushing Windows 10 onto all eligible systems, i.e. those running Windows 7 or 8.1 and this can result in significant background activity whilst upto 5GB of Windows 10 installation data is being downloaded etc.

I would recommend checking for any relevant entries in the Windows Event Logs around the time you see these messages, plus also check in the Acronis logs if you have an active task running - see C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs and look in the latest service_* logs - these are XML text files but can be viewed in Notepad.
