True Image Home v9 and windows 7
I recently installed home v9 on a windows ultimate machine, it seemed to install without issue, but i just tried several times to make and image of a partition.
I get the following error on each occasion:
Acronis true image has stopped working, windows will attempt to find a solution.
I click close and it goes away, nothing else happens.
Am i just stuck ( i have disk director 9 as well, it de-fragged but acts kind of quirky as well) but hadnr ewally messed with it to know whether its actually working.
What are my options?
IF i need a newer version, what is the general consensus on the "best" on that supports W7
Thanks

If you mean DD10 then yes, it won't install under W7 - well the latest two builds won't.
The DD10 rescue disk will work though, but it won't understand the new MS sector offset if your W7 or Vista install formatted the drive prior to installtion.

Ok, both had installed, but TI wasnt working fully. DD allowed me to create partitions and seemed to work, but if there is stability issue i will uninstall it as well( already uninstalled TI9.)
Thanks for the fast responses

Cannot install True Image11 Home on a Toshiba Satellite running W7,but I get err msg stating install was interupted, please try again. Retrying again buys nothing, error keeps occuring. Any ideas to get around this ?? Thanks

Even if you manage to install TI 11 on W7 and W7 should actually prevent it, it probably won't run properly as it's drivers are not W7 aware.
However, check your temp folder and empty as much as W7 will allow.
c:\users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp.

Hello,
started to upgrade from WIN7 Ulti to Win8 pro.
The process marked TI Home and TI Home 2012 to be uninstalled manually.
Uninstall TI 2012 worked.
Uninstall TI did not work, it showed up as TI Home 2009.
Surprised to find that Verion still on my computer.
WIN 8 Installer still reqests to uninstall this Version.
How can I get rid of the remainders?
Herbert

Run the True Image Cleanup Utility found here: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876
This works okay for 2009 (although not supported by Acronis)
Do not let the Cleanup Utility reboot the system!
Be sure to check the registry entries for stray entries per the instructions, before rebooting the system after running the Cleanup Utility .
