True Image - just hangs

Thread needs solution

Hi,

My OS drive started generating HW error messages.
I bough a similar sized HW drive and I'm trying to migrate the OS drive to the new one to save me re-installing Windows 7 64bit.

- I backed up C (the OS, bootable drive) to a backup folder on another drive
- I prepared a bootable media on a USB drive
- I switched off the compute, installed the new drive and removed the old one
- I boot to the USB stick and try to restore the backup C drive to the new HW drive - with the MBR
- TrueImage started the recover but after a while it just hangs and nothing happens for hours

Am I doing anything wrong?

Best

You might want to try to do a check disk on the suspect drive. I've had much success doing this if a drive is giving you problems (errors during cloning, etc.).

Next, I'd clone the old drive to the new drive directly. If this does not work, backup the old drive (as a disk) to a .TIB and under the Disk Backup Options, look under Error Handling and enable the checkbox for Ignore Bad Sectors. Proceed with backup and restore to the new disk.
