True Image v10.00 Basic Question - (Newbie/Novice)
Hello All,
This is my first post, please be gentle with a Novice.
I have had TI v10.0 for some time, due to various reasons only just got round to installing.
I have looked and searched through the forums, and I see some very knowledgeable/helpful people.
So to my question.
I have a PC WinXP Pro, with all latest MS updates TTBOMK.
There is only 1 HD present,
C: OS/Programs @ 50GB NTFS
D: Data Files only @ 200GB NTFS
I have an external USB HD 250GB, and external USB DVD Writer.
I have 2(simple?) needs
1. Create a complete recovery image in case my HD fails.
2. Create a C: Image incase my OS/Program start giving me issues
Where I get nervous is reading all about things like:
MBR changes, SID's, Drive letters changing, Need to create Linux Boot disks?
Can anybody provide an insight/help into my basic requirements.
Will I see any issues, do you have any advice/tips?
I have gone through all the screens in TI, I think I know which options/tick boxes to use.
I have already created a Bootable CD that works.
Any help/guidance will be appreciated by this Novice.
Thanks & Regards - David

Hello Grover,
Many thanks, much appreciated.
7A is very useful indeed, I only see a 5 not a 5B?

It is impossible to remove from PC using Windows Add/Remove way both True image version 10.0.4942 (writes "Fatal error during installation") and True image Home version 12.0.9646.11( writes "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel ")
I can not use both products ! Where are the support personnel and the programmers who did these softs and what do they think about it ?????????? It looks like a Wall between us : there are no direct contacts , there are no fast ways to dispose of an idiotic errors !!!!!! Sergey

Serge,
Your best chance of success is to use one of your backups and restore your system back to a point where only one version of TrueImage was installed. Once your system is stable, then you can un-install Trueimage and re-install a different version. You cannot have two versions installed. Also, when installing a complete new version, you must uninstall the prior version before installing the new version.
Acronis also offers a cleanup utility. Check item 42C in my signature index below.

Hello all,
We are really sorry for the delay with the response.
GroverH, thank you very much for your assistance, your are absolutely correct.
Serge, if you can't uninstall the software using Add/Remove Programs feature, please use Acronis Clean-Up Utility that will remove traces of the software from your operating system. Please have a look at this KB article for the detailed instructions on how to use the utility.
If you're still unable to uninstall the software even by the means of Acronis Clean-Up, please uninstall the software manually, as described at More Information section of this article.
Please let me know if the issue still persists or if you have any further questions, I'll be glad to help.
Thank you.
