True Image Version 8 use with Windows 8
All I want is a full image, will my old Acronis TI version 8 work with Windows 8? It seems it should, data is data, doesn't matter Windows 95 or Windows 8. Seems to me that Acronis 8 should work as far as the backup. The problem might be on the restore as restore CD from Acronis 8 may not work with hardware on newer equipment using Windows 8. Any thought other than stop being cheap and upgrade?

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. Granddaughter got a new HP laptop, has been using Acronis 8 on Windows XP with a 10 year old PC. I figured it would be hardware that bit her, might backup fine, but that is worthless without restore. Was going to test with a restore of one usless file with boot CD, but I may just break down and get her a copy of Acronis. Windows 8 doesn't do an image backup like Windows 7. I use Acronis 2013 on my Windows 7, do complete image once a week and a microsoft image once a month, never have tried a microsoft image restore. Should have took acronis up on their offer they sent months ago for 3 PC version. Wish Acronis took their bells and whistles out and just had a plain jane image version. Looks like Windows 8 does pretty good for backing up files, so Acronis Lite isn't much use.

You are wise to test a restore. We recommend that everyone do that, prior to an emergency.
