Trueimage 2010 doesnt find .tib-files

Thread needs solution

I have installed TI 2010, latest version on a Windows 7 PC. I use Trueimage since 4 versions and had never problems. When I try to restore a file or a partition, I use recoery and select the drive and directory where the .tib-files are stored. The directory doesn't open, no tib-file ist listed to be selected. I can open a tib-file in Windows-Explorer an extract files sot the .tib-files are ok. But they can't be found via Trueimage. Backup works wihtout any problems (I hope).

Have you, using Explorer, moved or renamed the files? ATi as of version 12 (aka 2009) uses an internal database to keep track of tib files? If you change the fiels outside of aTI, the database becomes furshlugginer.

No, I didn't change anything.

Okay, sorry. Seemed worth asking. In that case is sounds like one of those Acronis upgra-is-really-a-downgrade specials that they love to (mis)code. Best to contact chat/Tech support. Or if you don't want the hassle, and its within 30 days since yp purchased the newer version, ask for a refund and revert to the prior version.

I'm hanging with ATI10, myself, but then my equipment is old enough that it can handle it.

I can't go back to the prior version, because this version doesn't run on W7. I already asked tech support, but it seems, that they can't or won't help.

If the directory doesn't open, then naturally you will not have access to the Image files. Try the process with the bootable Rescue CD. If that doesn't work, copy the Image file you want to another directory and see if that works.

@Harry Kaercher
If it's any consolation, I have the same problem with the Recovery option in Windows 7 Acronis 2010. The titles of the backups are listed but the tib files are not there.
I restore a backup from the boot CD.
