Hello dgc1966,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

First of all thank you for the provided information, unfortunately the file with sysinfo is corrupted and I can’t open it. Could you please recreate and send it to me once again.

There can be several reasons for the encountered issue. It can be SnapAPI (Acronis drivers) malfunction or file system errors with bad blocks on the hard drive, third-party software can also block access to the drive and lead to Acronis True Image Home 2010 malfunction, eg. another backup/restore solution or antivirus software.

I would recommend you to start investigation with SnapAPI reinstallation. Use the following KB article to download and install SnapAPI 503 for Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Please also check the partition for errors:

  • Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
  • Enter the command:

chkdsk DISK: /r

where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

Also try to temporarily disable any antivirus/antispyware software installed (if any) and let me know if the issue remains.

If the issue persists in addition to sysinfo diagnostic information please also attach Acronis Report. Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
