TRUEIMAGE 2015
So i am sitting here just waiting to BROWSE my files so I can do a recovery. In 2014 it took maybe a minute to get the list of files, now... over 15 minutes already, the backup is only 30GB. This is insane.
The big bubbly interface is also terrible. Try drilling down a bunch of directories... with the unchangeable 28-pitch font they use, its laughable to think you can see the entire path you wish to drill down.
They also removed the option to export your settings.
There is plenty of other terrible annoyances about this product. I wish I could return it, but I know that ain't happening.
Time to find a new backup Vendor.

+1, I briefly tried 2015 and didn't get very far with trying to configure a backup when I just closed the program because of the GUI changes. There should be a classic view/verbose/detailed view. I much prefer Acronis Trueimage 2013/2014 (whatever Trueimage WD edition is).

The UI is not good, but then again, neither was 2013's or 2014's. I've found that Acronis, and most commercial backup software... Retrospect, Ghost, Crashplan, etc, all have their share of issues. Honestly, for the daily backups, none of these does a very good job... they work for a while and then eventually problems arise with corrupted backup files, etc. Have not found a single one that I can say is fully reliable.
BUT... if you use the offline media (bootable media system capture or restore) and create full system backup images with it, Acronis is top notch and the universal restore capabilities are amazing. I have always been able to rely on full system image backups from Acronis using the preboot media, even when deploying to dissimilar hardware.
I fully agree that the desktop software GUI application is just .... meh. It works well when it does, up until it doesn't. I have just resorted to using a simple Windows robocopy script as a secondary backup to Acronis for my truly important files and have gotten into the habit of making system images with the preboot media as often as necessary and the process is pretty simple, especially if you have it on a bootable thumb drive or a tool like Easy-2-boot or Yumi multiboot creator.
