TrueImage unwanted internet connection
I Have installed trueimage12 (offline activation via file exchange) and have a lots of unwanted internet request from soft/services from truimage, DO someone know why ansd how to stop it ?
(I want to disable it from source and no only have my firewall block something every 30 seconds).
- sync agent tryed to connect (but I stop the service and change its mode t manual) it seems to work --> solved
- license activator try to connect internet (whereas it is already activated)
- Trueimage.exe try to connect every 30 seconds !!!!!!!!!
I have obviously do NOT accepted customer experience, stop non-stop backup service (I do not use) and do not understand why acronis.exe want/need to connect!!!
Same kind of question, why installation create a autorun for TRueImageMonitor ??? I do not need to have any service/software working by itself. I only want ot make backup/restore manualy. I do NOT want any automatic I do not know what thing.

Hi,
I do not let Windows connect whenever it want to internet... And, on my computer, I keep only software with settings that let the USER decide if it can send personnal data to someone I do not know.
But it is true that most of then are open sources. Non-commercial programm are usually much more (experienced) user- friendly that big company (worst of them being the creator of portable doc. f. format and a the company of a well known search engine)
It is not because "it is a way of these day" to steel information from you that programs like ATI "Have to" do it and steel some privacy. Especially for ATI that was used to be for "not n00b" users.
Solution of bootCD can be good but not fully because you cannot configure easily differential and incremental backup.
(For information in "old" trueimage - 5 years ago for instance - it was much more convenient than "the way it is done today" for this kind of thing. but, yes, sorry, you needed to use explorer to find files instead of having big "Icone" doing whatever ATI (but maybe not you) want. )
back to the point, why ATI 2012 need to connect internet ?
(I that not that pb with older version)

Hello TamaC and Scott,
Thank you very much for your posts and thank you for your help Scott.
TamaC, we really appreciate your feedback and I have submitted it to our Customer Listening System.
Our software needs to connect to the Internet occasionally in order to check the validity of activation. At the moment it is not possible to change this behavior and I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Since it's possible to activate for a computer that doesn't have internet acess, by activating on another machine and creating an activation file to put on the computer without internet access. If such a file is used could the Acronis internet access be turned off? Maybe this goes into the suggestion column. . . OR at least in the current situation, if such an activation file is used, then perhaps it might suffice to have the seciryt software block ATI access to the internet.
