TrueImage11.8105_s_de.exe corrupt?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
i have got the TI Home "Computerbild Edition" of the magazines promo CD. Installation allways fails without prompting any message :(

Assuming my computer is ok, my guess is, the installer must be corrupted. Unfortunately i have got a very slow internet connection, so i can not upload the installer file for checkup.
The file shows me this hashes:
CRC32: 0CD1901B
MD5: 1F0187C8EBEED541D141B06C706F3EBC
SHA-1: 1E9E3E7189A800BB7DA2D87232C336F7E455FEA5

Can you please check this?

Thanks Bernd

Hello Bernd,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

The correct MD5 for the installation file you have mentioned is 1f0187c8ebeed541d141b06c706f3ebc and it’s the same you have provided. I have sent you the link via PM with another installation file, please check it first.

If the issue still persists send us MSI log file using the following instructions:

1.Launch the product installation file

2.Once the Acronis product installation screen appears, right-click on the name of the component that fails to install. You should see two options there: Install and Extract. Select Extract

3.Select the path for extracting the component and click Save

4.Go to the Run prompt (Start -> Run) and issue the following command: msiexec /i path&msi-name /l*v log-name.log, where path&msi-name is the name and path of the file you extracted in steps 2-3 and log-name.log is the path and the name to the log file you want to save the output to. For example, msiexec /i D:\AcronisFolder\AcronisTrueImage /l*v D:\log-name.log

5.Reproduce the problem and send us the log file created during the installation (it will be created on D partition).

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Hello Dmitry,
thank you very much for your assistance. I downloaded the file and used it for a new installation and it worked pretty fine. Everything is ok now! It was quite easy.

But, one question remains. How can a file be corrupted and have the identically hash as a uncorrupted one? Could there be another (so far unknown) reason for yesterdays installation problems?

Anyway ;-) thanks a lot!
Bernd

Hello Bernd,

Thank you for your response.

Actually, the exact reason of the failed installation can be identified with the help of the .msi log file. The issue could be caused, for example, by activity of any third-party software. We can only assume now.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.
