Try and Decide Fail to Start

Thread needs solution

Attempted to start Try and Decide, and got a Try&Decide Fails to Start box

followed the directions in article: 3650: Acronis True Image Home 2010: Try&Decide Fails to Start after Upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7 (note: I am running XP SP3) and still T&D fails to start.

emailed Acronis tech support 11-days ago - no response. Re-emailed 3-days back and still no response.

case 00467151 filed within 30-day support period

since this was a retail product - I will probably be forced to file a chargeback.

Does Acronis tech support not respond to email queries?

Update:

No reply from Acronis Tech Support.

Attempted T&D again - failed. However, I disabled the Anti Virus (Avast) then tried T&D. This time Try and Decide - decided to start. Re-enabled the AV software. Did not do any extensive testing.

Opened T&D control panel - stopped the T&D program - discarded changes and rebooted. System rebooted with AV now re-enabled and T&D off. So it seems some success.

Perhaps this will help others with a similar issue.

I am boycotting businesses with sub-standard customer service practices - and Acronis is on the list - will not upgrade to any future editions.
