Thread needs solution

Using True Image 2014 on Windows 10 trying to clone disk.

But True Image begins its shut down procedure after finishing operation "3 of 4" "copying partition." Result is that many files are not copied to the "clone".

Uninstalled and reinstalled and get same result

TI 2014 is not compatible with Windows 10. Only TI 2016 and 2015 are compatible. Are you running the clone from within windows? If so try using the bootable rescue media.

Pat,

The clone failure is most likely caused by a disk error either on the source disk or the destination disk.  I recommend that you run chkdsk /f and scandisk on the source disk and the destination disk.  After running chkdsk and scandisk, you can try the clone operation again.  If the clone fails again, you can perform a "disk mode" backup of the source disk.  The backup needs to be saved to another disk, not the clone destination disk.  Once the backup is complete, perform a restore of the backup to the destination disk.

Performing a "disk mode" backup &  restore is safer than a disk clone.  If you accidently reverse the disks on a clone, you wipe out the source disk.  Even if you decide to perform the clone, I still recommend backing up the source disk before performing the clone.

Hope this helps and let us know how things work out.
