Unable to access Secure Zone after loss of power

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am using ATI 2013 with the Plus Pack on a Win 7 PC (64 Bit). The Secure Zone has been created on a partition of hard disk #4 and contains my backups.

During my last backup a power failure happened.

After reboot Windows runs without any problems. Unfortunately, just the Secure Zone is not accessible anymore. I can neither access, nor select the Zone, nor create or restore any (incremental) backups there. If I click on the asz:\ link the Secure Zone does not appear in the explorer window, and if I click on one's backup name an error message appears that the respective version(s) cannot be found. Event code: 0x006400CB+0x006400D9+0x006400E0+0x00AC0041+0x00AC0040+0x01AF0006+0x01AF000A+0x00040011.
In TrueImage the Secure Zone shows in grey, but is not alterable.
The boot disc does not provide access either.

Does anybody have an idea how to re-activate the Secure Zone, or how to safe (=save) my backups?

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

I am afraid there is not much you can do. You might be able to edit the disk records to change the type of the secure zone and make it readable by Windows, recover your files, then recreate the Acronis Secure Zone from scratch.

Hi Pat,

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I have made my files readable and "shovel" them on my external disk at the moment.
I will let you know how it turns out...

It worked. I could restore the system's image and recover the OS successfully.
Thanks a lot for your advice.
