unable to activate

Thread needs solution

I bought a Crucial ssd and along came an acronis true image HD activation key. I installed the software but when entering the activation code, the 'activate' button is greyed out. I found out I'm not the only one having this issue, but the topic regarding this issue is locked.

Please see KB document: 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products as this applies to your OEM Crucial version of Acronis True Image - you should contact Crucial in the first instance to ask them to help resolved this issue for you.

Unfortunately, and I'm not sure if this is the case, it's becoming a lot more common where people will purchase a hard drive, register free software, return the drive (for one reason or another) and then the OEM will repackage the device, but not include a new software activation.  Hopefully this did not happen to you, but ultimatley, the OEM provider should be able to help you with your license issues.
