Unable to Clone my Hard Drive

Thread needs solution

I just purchased the Acronis True Image Home 2012 product and I am trying to clone my hard drive. When I click on the "Clone Disk" I get a "Failed to start scheduler service" error. From what I can tell I need to start the "Acronis Scheduler 2" service in task manager which is not currently started. But when I attempt to start the service I get an "Error 2: the system cannot find the file specified". Am I missing something on my instatallation? Can anyone give me some insight on this?

I would suggest that you remove and re-install Acronis True image 2012 on your sytem, as it appears that the install did not work correctly. Be sure you are using the lasted build (7133). You can download it from your Acronis account after registering your serial number at www.acronis.com. After you get ATIH 2012 installed and working correctly, you should make a Bootable Media Recovery Disk from your program and use it to perform the clone operations as opposed to cloning from within Windows. There are many guides listed on the forums about proper cloning techniques. Please see Grover's True Image Guides listed under Useful Links on the left side of your screen for many useful tips on successfully using ATIH 2012.

I am using ATIH 2012 and no problem backing up data. However, I am now trying to clone my hard drive to an external drive via USB. Everything seems to go fine until I get the message that the machine needs to reboot or process will be cancelled. I check reboot and next. Thats all that happens. Program just dies and I am left wondering if I am doing something wrong. Any ideas?

phils,

Try the clone operation from the bootable Rescue Media that you can (should have) create(d) from with the True image program. This eliminates Windows completely from the procedure.
