Unable to Clone OS with TIH2011 Plus

Thread needs solution

Been trying to update the HDD in my wife's Vista machine for several unsuccessful days.

1) Created OS partition backup and stored offline.
2) Installed new, blank, larger disk into Vista64U system.
3) Used TIH to Add Disk and created Active Partition (OS) and Logical Partition (Data).
4) Tried Clone Disk in Manual to dupe the old partitions into the new disk's, resized partitions
5) Reboot autostarts TIH Recovery Mode duplication process which ticks along slowly...... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
6) Snort, huh what? OK, I gotta go do something while this is running.
7) Check in periodically and its still ticking along 27%, .....
8) Come back later to find the computer has shut down
9) Boot to blank screens..... wait, ..... wait, ...... wait, oh crap. RESET!!!
10) Normal POST and computer re-starts but wait, there's a brief text message from Acronis stating "Completed". Well, that's encouraging. Nope, the old Windows drive boots the OS.
11) WDM shows the new drive still unallocated with no partitions! WTH?
12) What does "Completed" mean?

Retried the process using Auto-Clone with the same outcome. Again, WTH?

Greetings,
There is no need to partition and/or format a drive you want to restore to. ATIH does all of this for you automatically. Using a boot CD is the best option. Putting the new drive in the old disks location is also correct. However, if you are restoring from a full disk image back up, the target drive can really be anywhere.

Basic Steps:
Get everything connected
Start system using your boot CD
Create a full disk image back up of the source disk
Store this in a safe place
Now restore the partitions one by one to the new disk
Restore in the same order as they are on the source disk
One at a time, reboots in between is not required
Want to make one of the partitions bigger or smaller, no problem
