Unable to create volume snapshot

Thread needs solution

My backup fails for the following error:
Unable to create volume snapshot
I'm using Acronis True Image 2015 Unlimited
Build 6525
This is a new event as previously backups were successful.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately neither of the suggestions solved my problem. I opened a case with Acronis support.

Collect the troubleshooting information outlined in the referenced KB article 48686 and follow the contact Acronis instructions.

Did you try to uninstall, reboot and then reinstall the program?

I'm having the same issues and started work on the Acronis suggestions. I also have the latest build, V6525, and it had been working fine until recently, which makes me wonder if the recent Windows 7 updates might have had anything to do with this. I set the Volume Shadow Copy in "services.msc" to automatic, and the problem persisted. Just a few minutes ago, I tried disabling the Volume Shadow Copy, and then ran a full-system back-up; it worked perfectly. Previously, I had uninstalled Acronis, and then re-installed the software, but it made no difference, I'm curious whether the problem would have occurred with the 2014 version....I did not check that specifically. Although this fix seemed to work, I don't know if it will consistently yet, nor do I know why there's a problem when there wasn't before. What's going on guys? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a 64-bit operating system, and it had been working fine.

Solution: I contacted Acronis support and they provided a VSS patch, and then rebooted the system
and now the backups work.
