Unable to explore or browse with explorer the tib back up file

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis for a long time and everything was working fine. I lover Acronis True image 2009 it was simple, efficient nothing complicated. I then purchase version 2014 and didn't like at all the interface and came back to version 2009.

Since few months now, I'm unable to browse my back up with explorer. The back up file is there using disk space. I can see the letter example C: but nothing further I cannot see the individual folders and files.

I download the latest version True Image 2015 as trial version build 6525 to see if this was still problematic and same problem is observe on my computer. I have several PC and all are showing the same problem. OS is Windows 7 in both case one is professional the other one home edition. Back up device is a USB external disk. I try my NAS but same problem is there also.

I spend some time trying to figure the problem, search different forums and internet without any success. Yesterday I download the direct competitor product and try it. Everything is working fine...Before switching backup solution I want to give a last chance to Acronis because I prefer Acronis interface especially what I saw with version 2015. The only way I can see individual folders and files is within the Acronis interface by itself using the browse utility to select files and folders to recover. Nothing visible when I use Windows Explorer all files and folder are empty when I try to browse this way...

Didn't received any reply from the forum or from the e-mail send to support team! I'm moving over to the competition Novastore at least this product is working !

Version 2009 does not support Windows 7.

If TI is installed, the tib file can normally be viewed by opening Windows Explorer and double clicking on the tib file.
Then keep clicking to follow the directory tree. Personal files are under the "users\user name\"

Hello GroverH

No problem I understand version 2009 is not supported on Win7 but as mentioned I download the latest version of Acronis true Image 2015 build 6525 and this does not allow me to browse my tib files with windows Explorer as I did previously. I'm able to browse the files in Acronis when I use the select files and folder to recover function then I'm seeing my folder and files.

My concern is I cannot browse or explore my TIB files like if I was simply looking a drive with Windows Explorer. Now the only way I can explore or see the files is within Acronis and not within explorer as I was doing before on previous version and as I was able to do until recently (windows update?).

In order to see the files via Windows Explorer, TrueImage needs to be installed. If it is, then the install had issues.
If installed, run the 2015 TI Cleanup utility (signatue link 4 below) and re-install.

If a cleanup and re-install does not solve issue, then be sure and contact Acronis support before your first 30 days of 2015 ownership expires.

You can also try from within Windows Explorer, to RIGHT CLICK tib file and choose the TrueImage option and then click the open option.

Using TI2016 on 2 pc's,  both W10

I take backup on a moveable usb disk.

On one pc I can read the backup file in explorr by dubbel click the file. Works perfect.

On the other it just starts True image.

Erik, welcome to these user forums.  Please note that there is a separate Forum for ATIH 2016 questions.

Please see post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/116874?page=1#comment-374611 where you will find a program patch for the ATIH 2016 TibMounter code to fix the problem you are seeing.

Download the zip file from the above post, extract the .MSI file then right-click and select Install for this.
