Unable to login with True Image 2014

Thread solved

I am moving my true image software to a new computer. It will not allow me to login to my account so i can transfer my license. Any fixes other than buying a newer version?

Also, the interface is different than shown in

William, welcome to these public User Forums.

Unfortunately with ATI 2014 (and any older version from ATI 2016 or earlier), you will not be able to access the Acronis license servers because Acronis changed the security of those servers which then required the installation of a final new build of ATI 2017 through 2021 which Acronis released a couple of years ago.

For older versions such as ATI 2014 you will need to use the offline activation process to move your license to a different computer.  This is achieved by disconnecting your computer from the internet.

See KB 43896: Acronis True Image 2014: Activation which has a section dealing with activating from another PC for offline activation for this version.

Apologies to comment on this thread but I am having the same situation.  True Image 10 with free upgrade to True Image 14 several years ago.  Unfortunately I have had to replace the motherboard twice in the last two years and after the most recent change I had this too many activations error and also same issue as the OP when trying to sign in. Acronis support said they couldn't help as it's an old product and I have tried everything to no avail.  

Found this thread and tried the offline "fix" which I hadn't seen before.  Thought I had managed it as I got as far as receiving the installation code and followed instructions but got the message "You have reached your activation limit for this serial number".

The really odd thing is that I received a pop up saying "Activation Complete" but still can't sign in as the OP's screenshot or get anything to work.

 Any ideas or should I just purchase a new Acronis True Image to pair with D-Link?

Max, I have never seen the message 'You have reached your activation limit for this serial number' reported in these forums and never encountered this myself!   To my way of thinking, a perpetual license means for as long as the software can be installed, not just after x number of activations!

If you are considering purchasing a later version of ATI then I would suggest looking for a copy of ATI 2019 or 2018 from a third party seller like Amazon etc.  ATI 2020, 2021 and later now include Acronis Cyber protection features which in turns adds a lot more background services and processes.  ACPHO is a subscription only application!

Hi Steve,  Thank you.  Yep I have tried to upload the screenshot but the site won't allow me for some reason but the below is what shows once I enter the installation code to receive the activation code, neither of the options suggested work.  It's all a bit of a mess I transferred licences to another email address to see if that worked but now all codes/downloads etc have disappeared from my Acronis Account.  When I try and add keys I just get the message 

The keys that were not activated:

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Serial Number is already registered.

All very annoying but it may have something to do with the fact that I was using a free upgrade or something?

Thanks for your suggestion re versions of ATI.  To be honest I am not sure if is worth it.  When my first motherboard went True Image didn't work at all so just put everything back manually.  I put all my documents/pictures etc all on a USB stick and just reinstall programs if required so may just stick with that as I am not particularly technical and worry that trying to link a new ATI with D-Link might be a bit too much for my capabilities.

That error is not related to the licensing.

Please review the KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/59689 and follow step by step the part that says: Instructions for Acronis True Image 2016 and older versions.

I have checked your account, and no license was registered in your account, at least for the email you use in your forum account. The serial number is registered under the email lionsXXXX@gmail.com (I have replaced the numbers with "X" to protect your email). You must use that email to log in and manage the licenses.

The issue I have with your suggestion is that I only have the one computer.  The motherboard was changed so I am unable to do an offline installation on just one PC.  I got as far as getting an installation code, can't remember how, and a little grey box opens up asking for the activation code but I can't see how I can receive the activation code.  No options are there in my Acronis Account because since I tried to move licence from one email address to another everything seems to have been wiped.  So as I say I have an installation code but no way of receiving a licence code to put in that grey box!

After the upgrade, the key changes, which is expected, and only one key remains valid as the old key gets dismissed. The one valid key is 9TT6SPL2-CX74Z3F5-YFPB9NBL-QMRNXU48-4H5MYDZ5-WDSRRJ3G-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx. This is the serial number you must use to activate the product. You must also use the email where that license is registered.

If you make several hardware changes to a device, it can be detected as a new one, and this behavior can be expected. Please try all the alternatives suggested in the KB, such as offline activation, and make sure you follow all the steps; this is crucial.

Yes but that valid key has disappeared from my account?  Is there a way to connect that key with the  z*****@bt.internet.com email address again?

I seem to have had success.  I set up a new account with the email I transferred licence to and then went through the process again and voila I received the activation code.  Not sure why this didn't work days ago with the other email address but there you go.

ATI is now up and running and no activation warnings so great news, I just need to set it all up again.

One thing that is still an issue though is if I try and "sign in" to my account from the Acronis True Image program it says "Failed to connect to the sync server".  Internet is all find so is there a way to correct this?

BTW, as well as post above when I am loading the pages of the forum I am getting (on all browsers) the message

If you are trying to sign in from any version of Acronis prior to ATI 2016 then sorry but that is no longer possible due to changes to server security that those older versions cannot handle.  Acronis only provided updates to ATI 2017 & later to handle the changed security requirements.
