UNABLE TO OPEN .tib INCREMENTAL BACKUP

Thread needs solution

I have been using ATI Home v.9 on a Windows XP system to make backups of my C drive (Windows and programs) to an 465Gb Elements external hard drive using a USB cable. I made a full image back up about 11 months ago Dec 2009 and since then have used incremental backups. The last incremental back up was on 1st Nov 2010.
This week my PC had a problem, so I decided to recover the C drive from the backups. This did not go too smoothly but eventually I managed to re-install Windows. However, I find that ATI has restored the C drive to the Dec 2009 settings. This means, as you will be aware, I have 'lost' all my changes since then and a lot of data eg e-mails saved on the C drive.
Whilst restoring from ATI I got a message that the .tib files for the incremental backups are not recognised as files that can be recovered. They have a .tib extension and have a reasonable recorded size when I look with W Explorer.
I would like to recover the data to 1 Nov 2010.
I would appreciate any assistance to help me do this.
One further item of possible interest is that when I make incremental backups at the start of the backup process I get an message where I need to click on re-try to make the process continue rather than it run through without hesitation.
