Unable to recover backups.

Thread needs solution

I have a new laptop computer with Windows 8.1 and TI 14. As I added programs to the computer I made several backups. At the moment in Windows Explorer I have three tib files in the root directory of the data drive. Double-clicking them just goes backward and ends up in the C:/.
On a backup external USB drive they are in a “my backups” folder. I don’t recall doing anything different other than location when I created the backups. It is possible the external drive was plugged into different ports during backup and recovery but I don’t see how that would be involved.

When I tried to recover them from either source in the TI 14 operation I get a disk recovery pane with version followed by a button in the first panel and then “source and destination” in the second panel. There is a green actuated recover button and hitting it does nothing. Otherwise ther is nothing in this recovery pane. Am I going to be able to recover?

I'll greatly appreciate any advice.

Look at signature link 3 below. Item 3 or item 2 and item 5 provides several examplesnof recovery when booted from the user created TI Recovery CD.
