Unable to reinstall True Image Home

Thread needs solution

I was using True Image 2009 with no problems.
I took advantage of the discount to upgrade to Backup and Security.
I concluded that I didn't like it since it seemed that to network my other home PCs, I need Backup and Security on all of them, so I uninstalled B&S.
True Image now required a virus scan before backing up (no option to disable scan) and crashed on attempting a virus scan (probably due to me uninstalling B & S).
I uninstalled TI and downloaded the latest TI 2009 from Acronis. Vista crashed with blue screen of death during reinstallation.
I installed from my original download of TI 2009. This installed correctly, but crashed on starting. I used the installer to download latest updates. Got BSOD during installing of updates.
Any suggestions other than uninstalling Acronis products totally and trying something else?

What version of TI asked for a virus scan the one embedded into ABS2010 or was it TI 2009?

In Windows Program and Features what Acronis products appear?

In Services.msc what Acronis services are installed and running?

Your crashing might be due to the fact TI 2010 and ABS2010 use a different disk driver than 2009. It is quite possible that the wrong SNAPAPI entry is in registry. It might not have been removed if it was inuse by windows at the time.

It seems likely that the answer to your problem will be to uninstall 2009, run the Acronis registry cleaner, reboot and then re-install 2009.

I'm not sure though of which cleaner version you might use. I assume it would be the 2010 version.
