unable to restore from NAS no network access at all...?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I know this is probably going to sound a pathetic inane question to ask but I'm going to ask straight out. Assumption is the mother of all Cough! well you catch my drift. I have a NAS which is basically my life line and I use for all my backups. I may be wrong but I could have sworn that ATIHE11 enabled you to backup and restore via a network drive... I.e. a NAS Network Attached Storage. Although, when I tried to restore I noticed that there was no access to my NAS in fact there was no network access at all only a basic config showing HDD. I thought about using a script...?

I'm wondering if it would be better to use the bootable media from my online account uther than create one from ATIHE11 instead because this is more up to date.

Example, \\NASNAME\n\Acronis\Backup\

I configured ATIHE11 to backup to the example path and created a bootable media which works fine aparp from not access to my NAS which is Linux based by the way.

Paul,

ATI supports restoring from a network location BUT you need to make sure that you can access that share from the recovery CD. For example on one of my laptops, I can access it when I use the ethernet connection, but not when I use the wireless connection. It boils down to linux drivers.

That answers my question and you're correct as the NAS is Linux. I shall speak to the manufacturers of the NAS they should have a solution...

Thank you again for a prompt reply much appreciated.

I'd say that the issue is with the Linux drivers included in ATI: the recovery CD runs ATI on Linux.
