Unable to see "Computers Near Me" with Boot Disk

Thread needs solution

Latest version of TIH and running Win7 64bit. Wanted to run a restore onto my laptop from a networked drive. When using the Boot Disk it doesn't see anything in the Computers Near Me.

Can you access the archive by typing the full UNC network path: \\computer\folder\mybackups\backup.tib?

If you can't, you might have a network driver issue (fairly common for wireless connections, rarer for Ethernet)

Pretty sure I tried that. Even when clicking on network nothing populates at all. I was doing this from my laptop and it should have been able to see the shared folders from my desktop PC. Only happens when using the TIH Boot Disk. Otherwise under other scenarios I can network without issue.

I am guessing this is a driver issue.

Did you try to download the latest bootable media ISO from your acronis account, burn it to a CD and boot on it?

You might want to try to build a BartPE environment as well.

OK. Register your copy on Acronis.com and download the bootable media ISO from there. Then burn it to a CD and try again.

Well, you need to declare your serial number on ACronis.com to actually register the serial number.

If you have a serial number, you can register it on Acronis.com and that's the way they know what you have.

I was directing the question at you. How would YOU know. You made assumptions that is my point. Thanks for your input.

Take care...

Ah... Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was not making any assumptions. But many users do assume that putting a serial number in the product is the same as registering on Acronis.com.
Let us know if you solved your problem.

I had one computer where even using a WinPE environment didn't solve the lack of connectivity on the CD.

I hope this will work for you.

SBMongoos,

Forget about trying with the download ISO on your account, I just learnt that this image is now the same as the one used in the product.

You have to contact Acronis support at this point if you don't want to take the risk of buying the Plus Pack just to try WinPE.
