Unable to setup incremental automatic cleanup

Thread needs solution

I searched for this topic and found x hundreds of similar topics. But none for TrueImage home 2015...

I want to have an incremental backup with 5 versions but only keep 1 version chain. I find this option (Backup scheme > Backup method > Turn on automatic cleanup). I adjusted all required settings. But when I open the backup options again, everything has been switched back to default settings... How can I force ATI Home 2015 to keep/save this setting?

Thanks for any help!

I have the same issues hope the answer is forth coming

Have you tried to set up your scheme as per GH12 except use your setting of 5 inc and "store 1 recent verson chain", plus click the option in lower left corner to save as default. In order for this to work, you also need to save the current task which includes these default settings.

With your settings, the version chain length is 6 (full +5 inc) tib files so deletion will occur after the full which occurs after the chain is complete or after sequential backup #7 and then every 6 backups thereafter.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme.
Full + 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains.
The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.

Generally speaking, my experience has been that a 2015 setting is applicable only to the single task being saved.
If a screen shows the option "Save as Default", and if option enabled, then "maybe" some (but not every one) of those settings will reappear in a future display when another new task is created. I have found that the "save as default" will replicate backup schemes and email settings. There may be other settings which I have not tried.

If you have a task set to your likings, use the operation/clone settings option and then change the clone to a differert name and change any other settings which need changing before saving as "backup later". This procedure is more lengthy than desired but less lengthy than creating a complete new task.

If you use Backup-Scheme: "Incremental scheme" and Backup-method: "Incremental", try to use Backup-scheme: "Custom scheme" and Backup-method: "Incremental".

This option fixed it for me. Thank you very much.

I too could not get the automatic cleanup settings to save on my Incremental backup scheme, but when I changed the backup scheme to Custom, and the backup method to Incremental, then made all my selections, the settings were saved for automatic cleanup.

Thank you again!
