Unable to use AcronisTrue Image 10 Home,Build 4942 in Vista 64 Home premium

Thread needs solution

Hi
Having upgraded from window Vista 64, to Window 7 Home premium 64 Bit. I Instaled my Acronis True Image 10 Home,Build 4942, On starting Acronis I get the message that Window 7 is blocking it because it is incompatible with Window 7. Contact Acronis for advice !

Is there an update For my Acronis build to make it usable in Window 7 Home premium 64 Bit ?I was quite happy using it in Window Vista 64 Bit Home Premium.

I would like an update to my own build rather than an upgrade to a different build alltogether ?

Regards and thanks for any help regarding this

Monir,

You are going to have to upgrade your Acronis software. Version 10.0 build 4942 does not support Winidows 7:

Oops, sorry! That link applies to the Disk Director suite, not True Image. I suspect it's probably the same issue for True Image 10.0 though. You should confirm that with someone from Acronis.

Just found a thread where someone got version 10.0 (4942) to work with Windows 7:

This is probably not a supported configuration. Use at your own risk.
Good luck!

Thanks Chris for the helpful link.
I am not skilled enough to take the risk and alter the registry to remove the block on my cheriched version.
Does acronis offer any reductions for their old coustomers towards an upgrade?. I am a registered old user but have not recieved any emails offerring a tempting offer?May be I should consider trying the O&O Image programe instead??

You should have an upgrade link in your Acronis account. You could also just purchase the upgrade version. When you install it, TI will ask for the TI 2010 serial number and then the serial number of an older version (TI 10, in your case).

You may want to try the trial version of TI 2010 first and see if it works okay for you before you buy it.

Thank you MudCrab for your helpful comments.

Will investigate that.

Regards and best wishes
