Undefined video mode

Thread needs solution

The boot media (build 6029), isn't detecting my video modes correctly. I get "Undefined video mode number: 317". When I press "enter" to display all the modes, it only lists the 7 character based modes. Typing "Scan" comes up with the same low resolution video modes numbers 0 to 6. I tried specifying a few modes manually (by specifying vga=x31b for example), but it always says "Undefined video mode number".

The video card is Elsa brand "GLoria Synergy" (PCI). In windows I use 1280x1024x32, as that is the "native" mode of the monitor.

Any other hints? sysinfo.txt is attached.

Hello Joseph,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

Please download ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting and also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media to solve the issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Check the following article for more details.

I noticed you are not using the latest build 6053.  You may want to update the build, I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date. You can download it from your account under Registered Products then recreate Acronis bootable disc.

Let me know if the issue persists.

Thank You.
