UNHAPPY!!! Update not working - support is gone?
1. Al my existing backup tasks were still there, but without the schedule. And it was impossible to reschedule them.
2. Making a new task (backup of desktop) first I get the message that the folder http://www.msnusers.com\ ??? is no longer available. No clue what to do with that message…
What login information?
End of the story. Since the upgrade I cannot make a backup.
What to do about it?

I don't use msn or WindowsLive and there is no link on my desktop.

ok so does that message pop up directly after selecting the data type i.e. 'My Data' before you select the desktop? There is definitely something pointing to msn somewhere on your system because that is what that url is. As I said before I still don't know why it is doing what it is.

I see three options.
1. Edit the schedule and see if in the files and folders list there is a MSN folder listed, if so untick it, save and see if everything now works.
2. Bite the bullet and delete the task and create a new one.
3. Uninstall TI, run theAcronis registry cleaner and then re-install TI.
Sounds as though remnants of the previous version are conflicting with the new version.

Hello Diego Pos,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
To solve the issue delete the item "My web sites on MSN" from the NetHood (My Network Places) subfolder in this folder, which apparently causes this by trying to access the network.
Also note that the program requires Windows authorization for a scheduled task execution. That is why you should enter your account name and password both to let Acronis True Image log in Windows with Administrator's rights and execute a scheduled task. The user name should be specified in the form of SERVER\USER or DOMAIN\USER.

Hello Dmitry,
This MSn thing was indeed a link in My Network, creates bij Windows.
Tha authorization was a different thing and had nothing to do with that. Indeed I needed to give authorization to start the backup. After that things worked fine. But the older version always functionend without asking me for an account name and password.
Anyway, the issues are solved. Thanks.

Had the same problem except with 2 FTP server sites I have listed in My Network in Vista. The FTP boxes kept popping up and asking for info and only after saying NO about 10 times would I be able to create a normal backup.
One of the many reasons I have downgraded to Acronis 11.

i'm not convinced it is a downgrade!
and i'm very dissapointed that Diego has not thanked me for being correct in the first place.

hello Bin,
It is like a soccer game, you give a great pass, another player scores and he gets all the credits...
It was a MSN problem, but I couldn't find anything of that nature on my desktop. And then Dmintry scored.
Sorry.
