Universal Restore Not Available

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I recently purchased and installed ATIH 2012 and the 2012 Plus Pack. The only reference to the PP is an entry in the Start Menu regarding Acronis for WinPE ISO Builder. As can be seen from the attached image, ATIH records faithfully that the Plus Pack is indeed installed and displays the PP Licence Number.

ATIH works perfectly and backs up partitions and drives both manually and to a schedule.

My problem is that Universal Restore does not appear as an option in the ATIH Create Bootable Media. The Bootable CD constructed by ATIH has only two options, Backup/Restore and Logging.

I have downloaded both Recovery CD images from my Acronis Account and discover that although named differently they are in fact identical in size to the last byte. Surely there should be some difference between the two?

I'm hoping that I may be missing something obvious and that a kind member of the forum might put me out of my misery :-)

Many thanks in advance,

Guy

Universal Restore is a feature that appears on the recovery CD when you start the recovery of a disk and partition backup. You can only activate it if your backup contains an OS.
Make sure you have produced your recovery Cd after having installed the Plus Pack.
The UR feature is independent from the need or opportunity to create a WinPE-based recovery disk.

Thanks Pat,

I was expecting a menu item to select from the Home screen as it was in former versions of Acronis True Image.

I found the option and restored Vista to a new motherboard. It worked like a charm!

Cheers

Guy

Glad it worked for you... I spent 2 days trying to figure it out but I can never get the option to use UR.
