Unrecognized network share folder

Thread needs solution

My backup destination is a network shared folder that is on an external USB hard drive on a different computer on a Win7 home network. The source Win7 computer can read and write to the shared folder, but Acronis Home 2013 backup cannot. Attempting a partition backup to the shared folder results in a timeout error that displays a message with the shared folder drive name replaced by "\UNC\". Why cant't Acronis recognize the shared folder?

Is the shared folder being accessed as a mapped drive letter?

Are your credentials correct as far as True Image is concerned?

The shared folder is accessed as a directory: \\ComputerA\Directory\Subdirectory. I usually use BROWSE to select it.

Not sure what you mean about "credentials correct as far as True Image is concerned?". Can you be more specific?

Does your share require a password to access it normally? If it does, as often when using a remote PC or NAS as the store, True Image might be having a problem with the access password, in which case, the credentaisl need to be deleted out of Windows Credential Manager, and then re-entered in True Image when first accessing the share.
