Update 2 for Acronis True Image Home 2012 (build 7119)

Thread needs solution

When updating from my present build (6154) to the newer build, I received a message that I already had the latest version, and so it didn't install. When I relaunched, I again received the update available message. What to do?

Win 7 x64 HP Pavilion.

Hello Jack,

I would recommend downloading the build 7119 installer from your account. Make a current back up of your machine.  If you have several back up tasks created, go ahead and export those to a safe place.

Now uninstall build #6154 (Programs & Features).  Use the clean up utility and follow ALL the instructions.  Reboot and install #7119.  Reimport your Tasks.

This might be the issue: try clicking under "you have the latest version." There should be an "install" button there. I overlooked this once, and it took me forever to figure out what I was doing wrong.

@Jack,
Give us an update when you get a chance.

Jack,
This could be a misinterpretation of the message. What the message is saying is that the recently downloaded file awaiting installation is the latest version. Proceed with the installation of the recently downloaded file which is 7119. This can be confusing message.

I have the same problem (currently have build 6154). Everytime I start Acronis True Image Home 2012, it informs me that a new version is ready for installation. But I can't install it, it just checks and says the version I am trying to install is the current version. Now this has to be controlled in a simple manner soemwhere in the program, and there ought to be a simple way for the Acronis engineers to provide an easy fix for this, especially as it seems to be a problem for a number of customers. Exporting backups and re-installing seems like a lousy way to solve a simple problem. And I don't particularly wish to deactivate the automatic notification when updates are available; that's not really helpful in the long run. I'm still hoping that the Acronis team will help us out with this minor but irritating feature mal-function by providing a real fix of some sort.

Jack Loewen,
If this is the screen you are referencing, go ahead and click on the install option to install 7119.
