True Image Home 2010 on Windows 7 64 Bit

Acronis Acronis True Image Home 2010 has been running happily on my PC for a number of weeks, but today I decided to install the TrueImage2010.7160_s_uk.exe update. All seemed to go through seamlessly, and I rebooted after the update.

However, when I tried to run the updated product, after the UAC prompt, I get the message “Acronis True Image Home is not installed”, even though the files exist, and it is listed under ControlPanel-Programs&Features.

I then tried to de-install via ControlPanel-Programs&Features, this asked for confirmation, appeared to run the de-installer, but did not remove the program, even after reboot. It is still listed under ControlPanel-Programs&Features.

So, now I have a useless TrueImage Home supposedly installed, but not usable, or de-installable.

Nigel,

Did you try running a repair install?

I would also temporarily switch off the UAC and see if that makes any difference, if it does and you prefer to have UAC on, it is possible to persuade TIH to run without invoking the UAC.

Make sure as well your firewall isn't interfering in the installation process.

tha fixed it Colin, turned off firewall/anti-virus/uac, and then repair install - don't know which one was the deciding factor, but I'm working again - thanks
