Updated 2015 as of 09/05/15: list of UI bugs to send to development to fix

Thread needs solution

I found no other way to get a list of UI bugs to development to fix than to clutter here with a post...

I'm a veteran of TI going back to TI6 maybe earlier. Loved and recommended TI through 9.5. Since the change in TI's UI and engine as of the win7+ era I'm struggling for what words to use to express my shock and dismay at how lousy, buggy and completely frustrating to attempt to use TI 2015 is!!!!

Talking myself off the ledge how I feel betrayed by a company that ruined a great product (circa TI-9-ish) I'll just proceed to list the problems mainly with the UI metaphor and details. In hopes of getting this list fixed.

UI metaphor:
- The irratating ever present list of backups in the left. This is tool centric, not back up centric. I feel TI-9's metophor to have made sense: Tool drop downs at the top: verify, backup, clone, disk partition the 9 yards. Browse for a backup TIP to verify...

- Create new backup: It's very VERY difficult to chose your own directory and file name. I just hate it when the tool chooses for me. I want the tibs to be in MY directory chain choice not TI's!!! The usability of the UI for changing directory is bad to impossible. Changing the file name before clicking Ok I can't figure out a way.

- The whole UI: right side scroll is broke. The windows API used for scroll regions is poorly done. IE its very difficult to scroll left side windows, and you literally can't scroll right side windows. Try it. Browse to file and have the right side be a longer list than will fit, you can't scroll.

- Restore specific files. So many bugs here! Down hill is restore whole disk. This NOT what most want to do. If you want whole disk recovered, you'd do recover, not file recover. Very VERY difficult choosing the source and even harder still to choose a DIFFERENT target dir for the restored sub directories. Guys... just try this, its obviously broken.

Fortunately, out of dismay I double clicked in Explorer on the tib file and TI installed a driver to auto mount the TIB and you can browse and copy easily using windows explorer. This is the ONLY feature I find better in TI 2015 vs TI 9.x.

I've cloned disks etc. Clunky and cross your fingers like I read here in the forum. I just don't get a warm feeling that all will work, because the UI metaphor and clunky useage is so un-settling you just hope for the best. The engine may be fine, the UI doesn't give you a good feeling. The metaphor is so ridgid (as in the backup UI issues above) that you are made to feel that TI is in control, not ME.

Gosh: Acronis do you guys read English? Go to the comments.
