Updating TI2013 to newest version
When I load TI2013 it pops up a dialog asking if I want to update.
I download and run the update and it stalls "Registering Modules".
I get the same result if I restore the system and download the update directly,
I am using Windows 8.

One thing you might try would be to use the Cleanup utility (link below) and follow the instruction listed inisde the KB article.
Download the two installation files from your own web account. Serials must be user registered in order to have access to the download files. Old serial numbers for prior registrations also available should you have a need as part of the new install.

ATIH2013PP_6514_en-US.exe
Then do a manual re-install of 2013 and instlal pluspack. Plus pack can be immediat ely installed after the main program--no need for a reboot prior to the pluspack install. Have all your serials handy and use the copy/paste method of pasting the 64 char into the serial windows using the Control V method for pasting.
Prior to the start of the 2013 reinstall, disable our Anti-virus or Anti-malware programs.
Right click on each of the install files and choose the "Run as Administrator" option when installing.

I have done as you suggested and used Clean up utility.
The installation of True Image and Pluspack 2013 updated versions worked without difficulty and are Activated.

Hello,
I had the ssam Problem to upsdate to the newest version of tih home under windows 8 in german.
An update over the installed Programm did not work. the Installation was cancelled with an "schwerwiegender Fehler" and rolled back.
After that I deinstalled the ath 2013 built 5551 and the ath pluspack
I rebooted the computer and installed the downloaded update software by putting in the S/N which are stored in my acronis account.
It was no Problem to install the newly built software and the pus pack.
But now THERE IS NO CHANCE TO ACTIVATE the reinstalled software.
A login over ATH to my acronis account is not possible. I Says that the sync Server could not be reached. Also the activation line says that there is no connectivity to the acronis activation server.
Now I'm working on the same machine and all internet connections are fine.

The Sync Server is to do with online backup, and that error message is probably due to a server timeout for some reason.
To solve the activation problem, click on Activate, you should get a panel pop up at your end asking if you wish to transfer the installation, if you click on this choice you should then be taken to an Acronis webpage which lists your PC, delete that entry and your copy of TI will now activate.
