Upgrade to SSD, now True Image freezes my computer

Thread needs solution

I've used TI 11 Home for years, and just recently upgraded to an SSD (OCZ Vertex 32GB). I did a fresh install onto the SSD , I did not image it. Running XP Service Pack 3.

With TI 11 install, I set up my scheduled backups just like I always had, and the system would hang a lot - seemingly randomly, not just when a backup was scheduled to start. I uninstalled acronis for a few days and it did not freeze. I reinstalled, and it hangs again. Then I uninstalled and upgraded to TI 2010. But it still freezes! I dealt with that for a couple days, and I uninstalled, now it's been 3 or 4 days with no freezing again.

Where should I start to try figuring this one out?

Thanks,
-mc

I have this exact problem. I am running Windows 8.1 with a Crucial SSD with Acronis Home 14 and 15. It'll freeze up with either version. I notice that it will stop freezing if I turn off schedule service etc. In other words I turn off all startup and running programs related to Acronis, and it will not freeze. But, turning all the services off prevents me from having scheduled backups.

mattyc,

You need to update your SATA drivers to AHCI for compatibility with Windows XP Here's how: http://www.prime-expert.com/articles/a11/change-from-ide-to-ahci-withou…

Jon,

You should send a private message to Anna Trifonova, this link, http://forum.acronis.com/user/36716, click on Send this user a Private Message. Describe your problem, indicate that you have a Crucial SSD, and indicate that you are willing to try the recently released snapapi driver developed for users with your issue.

Sent and thanks Enchantech.

I've been scouring the interwebs for the recently released SnapAPISetup.msi driver you mentioned, in an attempt to repair my problem. Can you provide me with a link?

It is only available via the method I outlined above.
