Upgrade from True Image 11 Home to True Image Home 2011

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded my Acronis due to upgrading to Windows 7. My question involves my existing backup and whether I need to start all over to rebuild my backup with a new "initial" backup and the subsequent "differential" backups, due to different operating system and new program.....or will the newly installed 2011 be able to read the existing files ?

I looked for the topic and could not find it, but if there is one that explains what is necessary for me to do, please advise...

Thanks

Hello Charles!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question, I will be glad to address it.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 surely supports the images created with the previous versions of Acronis True Image Home software, and Acronis True Image Home 11 is not an exclusion.

You can see the Backup Compatibility Table in this KB article.

Thank you!

I'm using true image 11 home but I see upgrades for home 2011. Is 11 home the same thing as home 2011?

Ira,
The last release for version 11 was several years ago and it was build 8101. There have been no new releases for this version 11.

Version 2011 is a new release within the past several months. The two programs are completely different and not related except in name only which is TrueImageHome.

If you are interested in the 2011 version, it must be purchased and version 11 must be un-installed before installing the newer 2011. A trial test run of 2011 is available but your current TrueImage must be uninstalled before installing he newer version.
