I have Acronis True Image Home 10 Build 4942.

Is there any real advantage to upgrading?

Depends on what you want. 2010 has some new features. I am not going to spell out every single new feature but you can download the user manual here, and see for yourself.

Personally, I would have continued using version 10. But recently, Fry's Electronics had a sale on 2010 home version ($10 after rebate). That is the ONLY reason why I upgraded. Version 10 was working just fine for me.

If you are intending to install W7 in the near future then you will need 2010 or newer versions (2011 is in beta testing at the moment, no idea when the release date will be).

I was using 10 without any problem, upgraded to 2010 only because I was thinking 2010 has better scheduling and space saving capability, but it turn out all depend on luck, all it functions is 50/50 chance it'll work, after the upgrade the only thing work for me is try and decide and regular backup, if you search the forum, you'll see how acronic left it's customer behind, if it is me I'll search for something else more reliable (even pay more, it is for important data protection, it won't come back even with just 1 fail), or wait to see how 2011 turn out.

vk,

The scheduler was updated in June 2010 and is not part of the normal 2010 version install. I suggest that you update your system with the newest scheduler.

update scheduler version 416 -June6

====================================

Thanks all for your comments. I guess I'll just stay with what I've got. I wonder if I ever have to use it if it will work. For me, this site has been a total nightmare. There is nowhere in the forum where I can see to do a search for a post. I looked through every post from page 1 to 13 and then knew I was getting into a time too early, so I started going backwards and finally found my post on page 7. But then I couldn't reply. I had already signed into the site, then clicked on the forum and signed in again. When I wanted to reply it said I had to login to post a reply!!! Anyway it took me at least 6-8 tries to be able to post this answer.

Again, Thank you!
