Upgrading from TI 2012 to 2013

Thread needs solution

I have upgraded from TI2012 to 2013. At first I was delighted because TI, for the first time in history seemed to find my previous backups through its search process. It also found the previous tasks.
Unfortunately it also created some bogus ones for second sets of incremental backups that are created in the other backup tasks.

Anyway, I have three backups that run automatically:
1. OS backup, weekly. This backs up my main drive (SSD) (operating system partition. This backup seems to have come through. I ran it after the upgrade and it created a new increment reflecting changes I had made to the partition.

2. Data backup (daily): This is a backup of a separate Disk (SSD) on which I keep my data. ATI decided there were two tasks. I tried to run one of them but it could not find several incremental files. Running the other produced the same result. So I deleted the task, removed the backups (ATI's deleting process did not work, just hung, so I did it manually).
I then created a new task with a new name and backed up the drive. At the end of the backup, ATI was looking for my old backup files -- even though this was a new task. I clicked cancel and checked the backup location. There was a full backup there in the specified folder.
How do I get ATI to stop looking for the old backups? I am not using that task now and have deleted it.

3. I have a small partition on my OS Drive, which is my e-mail archive. I back this up daily and had the same problem with this as with the other, full data disk.
How do I get these new tasks from looking for backups from the old tasks?
The new tasks seem to work, but at the end look for the old backups. It seems pretty crazy.

I would not have continued to use old tasks that were created with the earlier version of ATI. I would have deleted those tasks and created brand new tasks, backing up to different folders.

I have another problem with this installation. I find that one of my file backups is working fine and Acronis recognizes it as having been backed up on schedule. However, the other one completed the backup as scheduled (I verified it by looking at the files on the disk). However, Acronis says it has never been backed up. Seems like 2013 has some holes in it. Since there is no support now, I guess we just get to talk to ourselves on this forum.

Charles,

It sounds like your upgrade was not really truly successful.
If it were me, I would uninstall TI, and afterwards, run the Cleanup utility (link below in Signature). Be sure and follow the KB written instructions included with the cleanup utility.

You can download the current 2013 installation file from your own account and if needed, get a copy of your 64 char serial numbers.

After the new install, just to be safe, I would create a new TI Recovery CD.

Now, with the new install, also create some new tasks. Don't try to carry over any of the old tasks. Start your tasks fresh and into a new empty storage sub-folder--no mixing of backup files.

Correction:
Create the new bootable CD by downloading the current ISO file rather than creating the CD from the installed program.
The iso file is actually a newer build with the same version number but with a specific bug fix.
