URGENT- Full Restore using Acronis True Image 2013- can't boot into Windows 8
Following a validation of a full backup, I have done a full system restore of my C: drive (Vertex 256 GB SSD) from a good backup. The Restore said 'succeeded'. When I tried to boot up into Windows 8 Pro (64-bit), I get a blank screen.
Investigating using the Window 8 Pro install disc, and getting into the DOS prompt shows that the C: drive has changed to my old E: drive (Corsair 128 GB SSD), and the disk that I restored to is now called F:. The new C: drive does not have an operating system on it, and I presume that the new F: does (where I did the full restore to).
I am sure that I chose the Vertex 240 GB SSD for the full restore. The full restore included an unallocated space, a recovery space, and the Vertex disk. I also ticked the box 'include signature' (or something like that.
Questions:
1) How do I get the F: drive (Vertex 256 GB SSD) back to be the C: drive? I only have the DOS prompt to work with, so I am looking for a DOS command that changes F: into C:.
2) Why did my full restore result in an F: drive when i was trying to restore a system drive (C:)?
Your urgent assistance would be very much appreciated.

Sorry- I can't take a screen shot because I only have the DOS prompt in Windows Repair. However, I list the volumes below (sent from a different computer):
Volume# Letter Label Fs Type Size Status Info
0 I HRM_CCSA_X6 (Windows instal) UDF DVD-ROM 3348 MB Healthy
1 H DVD-ROM 0 B No media
2 F Vertex 256 GB SSD (old C:) NTFS Partition 237 GB Healthy
3 G Recovery NTFS Partition 300 MB Healthy Hidden
4 C Corsair 128 GB SSD (old E:) NTFS Partition 111 GB Healthy
5 Recovery NTFS Partition 300 MB Healthy Hidden
6 FAT32 Partition 100 MB Healthy Hidden
7 D WD Black Caviar HDD Backup NTFS Partition 1863 GB Healthy
8 E Data IDE HDD NTFS Partition 298 GB Healthy
9 J Samsung 640 GB portable HDD NTFS Partition 596 GB Healthy
The F: drive (Vertex 256 Gb SSD) should be the C: drive, but the C:drive has defaulted to the old E: drive (Corasir 128 GB SSD).
I looked at doing a partial restore of only the BCD(??) directory, but the next screen asked me questions that I could not answer, so I went back and choose a full restore (4 components- Vertex 256 SSD; Recovery, unallocated and ????).
My problems started when I did a driver update of VIA USB 3.0 hub using Advanced System Care Driver update v1.0. This caused me to lose the BCD file when an error message appeared 'attempted write to read only memory'. I then got the error message 'the boot config tile is missing or contains errors- \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD'.
Hope all this info helps.
