v2010 strange error message

Thread needs solution

W7 7600 64 bit Ultimate.

TI 2010

My daily image has just occured, during which an error message popped up asking for the location of volume 2.

What is weird is that the image has been created, so what volume two points to I have no idea.

However mounting the image  (drive N:) does show an interesting problem as shown in the attached 3rd png, it has imaged the same folders twice!

I wonder if it was trying to consolidate the images and has become confused?

Hello Colin,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

It looks like some corruption has occurred during the backup. What is the destination of this backup? Is it a local or network drive?

Could you please provide me with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the issue you report, so that I can try to reproduce it?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hi Alexander,

This was a scheduled backup to the MyBackups folder on my external USB drive - drive K: .

This was a daily schedule, the archive contained other images as shown in screenshot 'b'.

The scheduler had missed a previous schedule (22 Sept) for reasons I can't quite ascertain, but might have been the same time I disabled the NSB operation to an internal hard drive.

As you can see on the 23rd, it imaged correctly, on the 24th it came up asking for the location of volume 2.

There was still plenty of disk space, and no parts of the archive had been deleted.

The task was supposed to make a new full image every 7 days.

I canceled the error message, whereby the image you see dated the 24th was transferred from the Windows temporary working folder to the K: drive destination.

I then mounted this image as partition 'N', with the result that can be seen.

Subsequent scheduled images caused the same error message to appear, and upon canceling and mounting the resultant image, the folders were all doubled up. They were all able to be opened.

I have now re-installed 2010, and started a new set of images and deleted the original tasks, due to my other post problem concerning the 2010 update option available with the installer informing me that the serial number was a Warez one - which it wasn't, but think this problem was due to the beta 5008 downloading version 5054, which I then upgraded to v5055 from my account.

I'm using True Image 2010 (latest version) and I'm having the exact same problem since I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit), getting a message like "where is the location of volume 7" during a validation of an archive.

The error message comes up only during the Validation of the archive. The actual backup seems to work ok, and 50% of the time, validation works correctly.

Note that this has only happened since upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit), and the only other guy in our office who has updated to Windows 7 has exactly the same problem.
