Validation - confused

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis True Home Image for years on my PC. I now have a new PC using Windows 7 and Acronis True Home Image 2010. In the 2009 version, when I did a Full Backup of the computer to my external hard drive, after completion, the Validation option was shown clearly in the top menu bar. When I clicked on this Validation option, it would proceed to complete the validation. Now that I have the 2010 version, things are different. The Validation option no longer appears at the top of my menu bar. In fact, the last Full Backup I performed proceeded to automatically do the validation as part of the Full Backup. I left the room while the Backup was occurring and returned in the last few minutes to see that it was validating the Backup Archive. I know that you can right click on the Backup Archive and validate that way.

I am confused by several things.
1) Is it supposed to automatically validate prior after it is finished doing the Full Backup?
2) Why was the Validation option removed from the top menu bar where it was clearly seen and easily accessible?
3) What is the basic procedure the customer is supposed to follow to make sure a validation is done on the Full Backup?
4) When I searched for "Validate", the program took me to the "Recovery" window. What was this all about?

Thanks

In 2010 the validate button is one of the Backup options in the Optional Steps list down the left of the Backup Wizard window, I suggest you explore them to make sure that they are set as you require.

The options can also be found in the Tools & Utilities Menu
